Undervisnings- periode: 7 weeks, week 36-44
Undervisnings- form: The form of teaching and work will be class teaching with active participation of students by means of student presentations, group-work etc.
Indhold: Status of the research in climate changes, models for projection of climate development and the content of green house gasses in the atmosphere, physical and economic consequences of climate changes, the influence of climate changes in atmospheric, terrestrial and marine systems, model deviations, feedback mechanisms, tools for the limitation of the discharge of green house gasses including the Kyoto protocol and clean development mechanisms and the UN climate panel.
Kompetence- beskrivelse: The aim of the course is to give students a cross disciplinary introduction to the problems concerning climate changes and the consequences for living conditions of human beings following them. The course focuses on the interaction between the physical and economic conditions currently being influenced by changes in the global climate as well as the mechanisms which have been applied to limit climate chances and their consequences.
Målbeskrivelse: Upon completion of the course, students should be able to:
  • account for changes in climate in recent times
  • account for the relations between the climate and the content of green house gasses in the atmosphere
  • present an overview of the political tools used to limit the discharge of green house gasses
  • discuss the economic and physical consequences expected to follow a change in climate
  • structure a written assignment displaying the understanding of the scientific background for a climate related problem

    Eksamensform: Examination form: Set oral examination (written report and curriculum) without preparation time
    Form of assessment: The examination is graded according to the 7-point grading scale.
    Grading: external examiner appointed by the University
    Scope: The examination takes 20 minutes, inclusive grading
    Reexam: As ordinary exam.
    Eksamen: The report must be submitted on the 30th of October 2012 at 11am in three copies in room 04.1.41 and the oral examination is on the 7th and 8th of November 2012.
    Reexam: The report must be submitted on the 28th of January 2013 at 11am in three copies in room 04.1.411 and the oral examination is on the 30th of January 2013.
