Undervisnings- form: The course will consist of 22 double lessons based on lectures, student presentations, and discussions. The students will be expected to turn in small written contributions.
Indhold: This course describes the language behaviors and practices of young people in late modern Europe, particularly metropolitan areas. We will look at the interplay between ideology, social power, and culture as it can be observed in youth groups, particularly in their negotiations of social relations and identities. The course will cover basic sociolinguistics as well as post-colonial theories of language. The course will further look at empirical studies of youth interaction from European cities
