This seminar series is designed to support students writing their master’s thesis. Over 5 (3 hour) sessions, running parallel with individual supervision, we will look at different phases and aspects of thesis writing with the overall aim of making the work process collective, doable and fun. Along the way, we will focus on the identification of research questions, the generation of empirical field, contextualization moves, the selection of analytical concepts and the conversation with theory. Small writing and class exercises, directly related to the participants’ individual projects, will be designed to help students get from empirical material to academic text, and a bit of reading material will be assigned to exemplify. All along, students are encouraged to think aloud and to present work-in-progress, and the workshop series is meant as an analytical lab focusing on the specific master’s projects. |
