This module is divided between daily workshops of 3 hours (with a few lectures) and individual preparations and study time. The workshops are moderated by two faculty staff members. Individual students make presentations during the workshops. |
Formål: |
At the end of this module the individual student would be able to:
Identify and formulate a relevant research question within international health
Formulate research objectives
Choose appropriate study methods
Search relevant scientific literature
Discuss limitations and ethical issues
Write a consistent and clear synopsis as a preparation for a Master Thesis
Give short presentations of thesis plans highlighting objectives, methods and ethical issues

Content:
The module consists of a number of short workshops where the different phases of proposal writing is covered: drafting and presentation of objectives, choice and drafting of research methods, data collections methods (quantitative and qualitative research methods, literature search and ethical aspects.

Bemærkninger: |
This is a mandatory short course in the Master of Disaster Management and Master of International Health programmes.
Accredited 2004 in Madrid. This accreditation is valid until May 2009.
The number of participants is limited to 60. The course may be cancelled if less than 12 participants.
