| Indhold: |
This course will explore a problem in ”the real world” in collaboration with an external partner by building on the combined competences from ethnography and design. The course brings together students from design and humanities, with the aim of a mutual learning experience from solving a problem. Students from ethnology and MACA share their skills in ethnographic field methods and cultural analysis, while students from the Danish Design School share their skills in articulating new opportunities and primarily physical and visual representations of possible solutions. Course instructors from both disciplines ensure that students will gain first hand experience with fieldwork-based research as well as material and visual prototyping techniques. The students will work in small teams across disciplines. Through an iterative process the design work will take the form of back and forth movements between the field and the design studio. To enable these movements we will deploy design games, prototyping, and scenarios. The outcome of the team projects should communicate new design concepts but just as important the process and the insights that led to the particular design suggestion. |

Aktuel kulturforskning (Etnologi): Mundtlig prøve med synopsis, bedømmes gradueret, intern censur.
Specialization (MACA): Free written paper, 7-point scale, external examiner appointed by the Ministry. |
