Undervisnings- periode: April 23 until June 15, 2012, Exam June 11-15, 2012
Undervisnings- form: Lectures and laboratory exercises
Formål: Biochips are becoming very popular and are now adapted to routine applications in laboratories. In this course, we propose an introduction to the field, which can be of interest to any students willing to measure molecular interactions using commercial biochips or design new biochips. An introduction to standard modes of detection and adapted setups for High-Throughput Screening will also be given. The course will contain plenary lectures and lab exercises
Indhold: Plenary lectures: Interface protein and surface, Immobilization strategies, Surface based techniques, Protein arrays: classical and novel technologies. Lab exercises at the Bioanotechnology and Nanomedicine Laboratory (fluorescence microscope, biacore instrument and other biophysical techniques). The students will have to design part of the experimental protocol before the experiments and to write lab reports for each exercise.
Kompetence- beskrivelse: 1. Explain the advantages and inconvenients of protein immobilization 2. Describe several types of immobilization strategies with their specificities 3. Describe the principle of several surface based techniques.
Lærebøger: Based on reviews and articles
Eksamensform: -Laboratory exercises are mandatory. Reports of each laboratory exercise should be submitted according to deadlines announced at the beginning of the course.
-Literature report (written and oral) at the end of the course. Internal graded according to the Danish 7-step scale.
Reexam:Same as ordinary exam.
Eksamen: Aflevering af opgave d. 12. juni og mundtlig prøve d. 19. juni 2013.
