| Indhold: |
Lithosphere formation, secular evolution of lithosphere, tectonic processes in the lithosphere, importance of the lithosphere for retention of natural resources, geophysical methods used for imaging the lithosphere, methods for modelling processes related to the lithosphere |
| Kompetence- beskrivelse: |
The course will provide an overview of processes that are believed to form and develop the lithosphere as well as methods applied to geophysical studies of the lithosphere. Futher, students will learn to give lectures and write reports on subjects related to lithosphere research. |
| Målbeskrivelse: |
Upon completion of the course, students should show understanding of
• processes that form and develop of the lithosphere
• formation and retention of mineral and hydrocarbon resources in the Earth
• geophysical methods for studies of structure and processes in the lithosphere.
The student should demonstrate this insight by a scientific report on a given subject provided.

| Eksamensform: |
Oral examination, internal examiner, grading according to the 7-point grading scale. The exam takes 20 min. Make-up exam as ordinary exam. |
