Formål: |
The purpose of this course is to teach the art and science of creating computer games. |
Indhold: |
This course is given in collaboration with Danish Academy for Digital and Interactive Entertainment (DADIU). Students from different universities and art schools are taught together in 3 phases: Joint curriculum, Game Workshop and Graduation Game. Computer Science students are given the role as Game Programmer possibly Lead Programmer. |
Kompetence- beskrivelse: |
Having completed this course, the student
- will have hands-on experience with the different phases and aspects of game development.
- will have experience as game programmer.
- will have experience in inter-disciplinary team work with well defined and very different team player roles.
- will have participated in a small game-jam event.
- will have taken part in creating a real game from scratch from predefined conditions include content-restrictions and requirements for document deliveries.
- will have interacted with the game industry in a 2-day seminar.

Målbeskrivelse: |
At end of this course, the student is able to
- state the theoretical base for creating computer games including all the aspects of game development, roles and responsibilities for each of the competences.
- state the different aspects of game development: concept phase, pre-production, production, testing, pitching, etc.
- state the key elements for successful team work
- take part in a game production team as game programmer

Eksamensform: |
Continuous evaluation with internal grading based on mandatory exercises. Pass/fail depending on successful completion of all exercises.
Re-exam: Written report, pass/fail internal grading.
