Indhold: Like Christianity in other parts of the world African Christianity has become a global religion. Africa is playing a growing role in world Christianity because the number of Christians in Africa continues to increase, and because international migration has brought many African Christians to other parts of the world. In the course we discuss this new situation, starting with what is currently happening in the churches of Africa (developments in the mainstream churches, the Pentecostal revolution, Christian-Muslim relations, the public role of the churches). We then move on to a discussion of African Christianity outside the continent, not the least in Europe. Recurrent themes will be how African Christianity is transformed in the diaspora, and how Christianity in Africa is affected by diaspora Christianity and by global religious and cultural trends. An additional theme will be if and how African Christians are affecting Christianity in the West.
